There is magic in this amazing town of Luang Prabang or Louangphrabang, the old capital of Laos, home of the million elephants before the war ended. It is enclosed by the Mekong River, the Nam Khan River, and encircled by lush mountain ranges. The UNESCO town is a world heritage site itself, plunked with outstanding architecture of temples, lovely elephants, and the humblest Southeast Asian people I have ever met in this charming region.
